Project Title: Understanding the Molecular Mechanism Underlying Seed-Associated Endophytes Regulated Seed Germination of Himalayan Medicinal Plants and Their Application in Food Crops as Synthetic Microbial Communities for Stress Tolerance (GAP-0347)

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Maximum Age: 35 years as of 19 November 2024
  • Stipend:
    • ₹31,000/- + 8% HRA for candidates with CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET or GATE qualifications, or those who have qualified national level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments.
    • ₹25,000/- + 8% HRA for other candidates.

Essential Qualification:
Master’s Degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Botany, or Plant Science from a recognized university.

Desirable Qualifications:
Experience in:

  • Plant Molecular Biology
  • Microscopy
  • Bacterial/Fungal Transformation
  • Whole Genome Sequencing
  • Metabolomics Analysis

Project Tenure: Up to 09 October 2027

  • Candidates must bring a completed application form (available on the CSIR-IHBT website) with a recent colored passport-size photo affixed.
  • Self-attested photocopies of age proof, educational qualifications, and experience must be presented.
  • Original certificates must be shown at the time of the interview.

General Instructions:

  • Relaxation in age limit is applicable for SC/ST/PwBD/Women (5 years) and OBC (3 years) as per government guidelines.
  • Engagement is temporary and co-terminus with the project duration, with no claims for regularization.
  • No traveling allowance will be provided for attending the interview.
  • The selection committee may use a direct interview or an objective test (MCQs) followed by an interview.

Note: The Director of CSIR-IHBT reserves the right to make final decisions regarding the engagement process. Performance reviews will occur every six months.
