About the Team
The Antibody Team at Thermo Fisher is at the forefront of engineering and developing antibodies, with a strong focus on ensuring reagent quality and specificity. The team’s core activities include antibody design, purification, conjugation, and testing in various immuno-applications using cutting-edge tools and technologies. The goal of this program is to advance product development and generate crucial product-specific information to promote research.

Role & Responsibilities
As a Scientist I, Molecular Biology, you will be an integral member of the antibody development team, contributing to improving the performance and specificity of antibodies using innovative molecular, protein, and cell biology methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute experimental plans to meet program objectives with precision.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of results in lab notebooks and data sheets.
  • Regularly review literature to stay informed about developments in antibody research.
  • Compile, analyze, and present data in both written and oral formats.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions.
  • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and ensure adherence to schedules.

Candidate Requirements
Education & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in a life sciences field (Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Immunology, Biochemistry) with 0-3 years of experience, or a recent Ph.D. (submitted within the last year).
  • Strong foundation in molecular biology techniques, including PCR, primer and vector design, cloning, DNA/RNA extraction, and analysis.
  • Experience with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) platforms, including library preparation and handling of sequencers.
  • Familiarity with bioinformatic analysis and pipeline setups. Knowledge of programming languages like Python or R is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with immunoassays, such as ELISAs, Western Blotting, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunohistochemistry.
  • Familiarity with antibody development platforms is desirable.

Additional Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and statistical software such as GraphPad Prism.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team-oriented approach.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes for product and process improvement.
