Position: Project Research Scientist-III (Non-Medical)
Project: A Multi-Centric Capacity Building Initiative to Strengthen the Clinical and Laboratory Detection of Melioidosis in India, with special focus on the North Eastern States.
Location: ICMR Headquarters, New Delhi
Salary: Rs. 78,000 per month + HRA as admissible
Duration: 12 months (extendable up to the end of the project period)
Maximum Age Limit: 45 years
Essential Qualifications:
- 1st Class Post Graduate Degree, including integrated PG degrees, with three years experience or Ph.D.
- 2nd Class Post Graduate Degree, including integrated PG degrees, with Ph.D and three years experience.
- Must have handled a minimum of five projects relevant to the requirement, as Principal Investigator or Co-PI.
- For Engineering / IT/CS – First Class Graduate degree of four years with five years experience.
Desirable Experience:
- At least three years of post-qualification experience managing public health programs, especially in the designated project area.
- Scientific Project Management skills and administrative experience in project monitoring and evaluation, including handling/ coordinating projects related to communicable diseases.
- Experience preparing reports, notes, PowerPoint presentations, and undertaking programmatic data documentation.
- Proficient in computer handling, familiar with Windows (MS Office software & software packages), and knowledgeable about computer applications/ business intelligence tools/ data management.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment with experience of travel for programmatic reviews and coordination.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the Senior Scientist(s) in the Division of CD in monitoring, reviewing, and coordinating project activities.
- Organize interim/review meetings, prepare meeting minutes.
- Write and collate project reports, frequently report project progress and milestones.
- Prepare scientific notations and draft manuscripts for publication.
- Ensure project performance indicators are met.
- Support data quality control and analyze source data verification, query raising & resolution.
- Plan, initiate, and implement other research projects/activities in the Division.
- Perform any other work related to the scientific/technical activities in the Division as assigned by the Senior Scientist(s)/Head of the Division.
General Terms and Conditions:
- The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
- Incomplete/late applications will not be entertained.

- No TA/DA will be given for the interview.
- The appointment is terminable with one month notice from either side.
- No claim for regular appointments under ICMR or continuation in any project.
- Project manpower cannot register for Ph.D. due to time constraints.
- Submission of false information will disqualify the candidature.
- Leave as per ICMR’s policy for project human resource positions.
- ICMR reserves the right to cancel/modify the process at any time.
- The Competent Authority’s decision will be final.
- Qualification and experience should be in a relevant discipline from a reputed institution. Experience should be post-qualification.
- Persons in regular time scale service under any Government Department/Organization are not eligible.
