About IPC

Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) is an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. IPC serves as the National Coordination Centre (NCC) for the Materiovigilance Programme of India (MvPI) since January 2018. Its mission is to ensure the safety of patients, users, and third parties concerning medical devices and in-vitro diagnostics. Recently, IPC-MvPI received provisional approval from the Quality Council of India (QCI) to function as a certification body for ICMED 13485 and ICMED 9000, enhancing the quality management systems of medical device industries.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

1. For PhD Candidates:
   • PhD in Molecular Biology/Genomics or equivalent.
   • Experience in handling modern analytical instruments such as Gene Sequencing, PCR, Gel Electrophoresis, Gel Documentation, and Lyophilizer.
   • Good knowledge of computers.
2. For Master’s Degree Candidates:
   • Master’s degree in Microbiology/Molecular Biology/Genomics or equivalent.
   • Minimum 3 years of experience in handling modern analytical instruments (Gene Sequencing, PCR, Gel Electrophoresis, Gel Documentation, and Lyophilizer).
   • Good knowledge of computers.

Key Responsibilities

• Handling and storage of microbial reference cultures at the Microbiology Division.
• Genotypic sequencing of microbial reference cultures.
• Isolation, purification, and characterization of new microbial reference cultures for inclusion in the Indian Pharmacopoeia.
• Conducting research activities related to microbial reference cultures in collaboration with similar organizations.

3. The emolument may vary based on the applicant’s experience and performance during the interview.
