Age: Preferably below 50 years

Tenure: 5 years

Essential Qualification:

• Non-Medical: Post-Graduate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Pharmacology, Microbiology from a recognized University, with Ph.D. in any of the related fields.
• Medical: Post-Graduate degree in Medical/Biological Science with a specialty in Microbiology/Pharmacology.
• Desirable: Ph.D. in any of the related fields.

Experience:

• 15 years’ experience, including 5 years at a senior level in pharmaceuticals.
• Research experience in the relevant field with support of published papers.

Job Description:

• Serve as the Chief Scientific and Executive Officer of the Commission.
• Act as member-Secretary of the General Body, Governing Body, Scientific Body, and other Committees of the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission.
• Provide leadership and strategic direction for the preparation of monographs for drugs and formulations in the Indian Pharmacopoeia.
• Ensure timely publication of the National Formulary of India.
• Oversee the implementation of programs for the availability of quality certified reference substances required for quality assurance of drugs.
