Scale of Pay: Pay Matrix Level-14 (Rs. 1,44,200 – 2,18,200)

Age: Preferably below 50 years
Tenure: 5 years (Direct Recruitment basis)

Essential Qualifications:

  1. Non-Medical:
    • Post-Graduate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences / Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Chemistry / Pharmacology / Microbiology from a recognized University.
    • Ph.D. in any of the related fields.
  2. Medical:
    • Post-Graduate degree in Medical / Biological Science with a specialty in Microbiology / Pharmacology.
    • Ph.D. in any of the related fields is desirable.

Experience Required:

  • 15 years of experience, including 5 years at a senior level in the area of pharmaceuticals.
  • Research experience in the relevant field with support of published papers.

Job Description:

  • Act as the Chief Scientific and Executive Officer of the IPC.
  • Serve as member-Secretary of the General Body, Governing Body, Scientific Body, and other Committees.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the IPC.
  • Oversee the preparation of monographs for drugs and formulations for inclusion in the Indian Pharmacopoeia.
  • Ensure timely publication of the National Formulary of India.
  • Implement a time-bound program for the availability of quality certified reference substances required for drug quality assurance.

  • Government employees must submit Annual Confidential Reports for the last five years, and private employees must provide equivalent assessment reports and employer’s certificate.
