Job Purpose:
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in Oncology is a field-based professional responsible for maintaining and sharing in-depth scientific knowledge in oncology. The role focuses on providing unbiased, accurate, and up-to-date medical and scientific insights, facilitating scientific exchange between Lilly and scientific experts, and supporting oncology research strategies and commercialization efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scientific Knowledge & Customer Engagement:
- Maintain deep expertise in oncology, competitor compounds, and clinical developments.
- Answer scientific questions and engage with scientific experts to establish trust and credibility.
- Facilitate exchange of insights to guide Lilly’s strategic direction in oncology.
- Strategic Leadership & Collaboration:
- Communicate complex data effectively to internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to medical planning and collaborate across functions to implement strategic plans.
- Establish and execute territory-specific plans to maximize efficiency.
- Independent Work & Field-based Execution:
- Prioritize activities and manage multiple projects in a compliant manner.
- Leverage internal resources and collaborate to achieve results.
Key Competencies & Selection Criteria:
- Educational Requirements:
Advanced degree in health sciences (PharmD, MD, or PhD in a medically related field). A Master’s or Bachelor’s in health sciences is acceptable if combined with significant clinical or industry experience. - Experience:
2-3 years of clinical or therapeutic area experience in oncology. Previous experience in MSL or similar field-based roles is highly desired. - Skills & Attributes:
