nstitute Overview:
The National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB) is an autonomous research institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. The institute focuses on advancing biotechnologies in animal health and productivity, with expertise in areas like animal genetics, genomics, transgenesis, stem cell applications, reproductive biotechnology, infectious diseases, nanotechnology, bioinformatics, and nutrigenomics.
Position Available:
- Post Title: Junior Research Fellow (1 Position)
- Project Title: “Exploring how Theileria parasites repress host gene expression (PARA-REPRESS)”
- Principal Investigator: Dr. Anand Srivastava, Scientist-E
- Duration: Up to one year, extendable based on performance and co-terminus with the project duration.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Educational Qualification: Postgraduate degree in Natural Sciences with prior research and development experience in academic or industrial institutions or science & technology organizations.
- Preferred Experience: Experience in epigenomics, cancer biology, molecular biology, cell culture, and bioinformatics will be given preference.
- Age Limit: Maximum age 35 years.
Fellowship and Benefits:
- Fellowship: Rs. 37,000/- per month + HRA (if applicable)
- Eligibility for Fellowship: Candidates with NET/GATE qualifications or those who have undergone selection through national-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments/Agencies/Institutes as per DST guidelines.
