The University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS), in collaboration with GTB Hospital, is inviting applications for several posts under an ICMR-sponsored research project. The project, titled “Identification of gene-environment and polygenic risk score-environment interactions among Indians that determine the risk of prediabetes and type 2 diabetes mellitus”, aims to understand the genetic and environmental interactions that contribute to diabetes risk among Indians. UCMS & GTB Hospital, based in Dilshad Garden, Delhi, is known for its excellence in medical research and healthcare services.
Responsibilities in the Job:
- Project Research Scientist-III (Non-Medical):
- Lead research efforts and data collection for the diabetes project.
- Analyze data and interpret research findings.
- Prepare research reports and publications.
- Supervise junior research staff and maintain project documentation.
- Project Technical Support-II:
- Provide technical support for project activities including sample collection, testing, and analysis.
- Assist in the maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Ensure smooth execution of laboratory procedures as per research requirements.
- Project Technical Support-I:
- Assist in the collection and processing of research samples.
- Support laboratory operations, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety and research protocols.
Qualifications:
- Project Research Scientist-III (Non-Medical):
- Essential Qualification: Postgraduate degree with at least five years of post-qualification experience or Ph.D. with two years of experience.
- Age Limit: 45 years.
- Emoluments: ₹78,000 + HRA (as admissible).
- Project Technical Support-II:
- Essential Qualification: 12th grade in Science with a Diploma in MLT/DMLT or equivalent and five years of relevant experience OR a three-year graduate degree in a relevant field with two years of experience.
- Age Limit: 30 years.
- Emoluments: ₹20,000 + HRA (as admissible).
- Project Technical Support-I:
- Essential Qualification: 10th grade with a Diploma in MLT/DMLT or equivalent and two years of experience OR a three-year graduate degree in a relevant field with one year of experience.
- Age Limit: 28 years.
- Emoluments: ₹18,000 + HRA (as admissible).
Skills:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in laboratory work and research procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills for report writing and collaboration with team members.
