Job Overview:
The Scientist II position in the Reference Standard Laboratory (RSL) at USP involves performing testing and maintaining a GLP-compliant environment. The role focuses on executing high-quality analytical work, ensuring timely completion of projects, and supporting multiple departmental teams. The scientist will be responsible for sample management, equipment calibration, and ensuring the availability of required chemicals and resources. Active participation in audits and certifications will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute testing and analysis with high accuracy.
- Support verification, stability, and other departmental teams as needed.
- Manage sample archival, tracking, and chemical inventory.
- Coordinate with the supervisor to ensure project completion.
- Troubleshoot scientific challenges and manage equipment calibration.
- Ensure the availability of project supplies and initiate purchase requisitions.
- Maintain GLP practices, participate in audits, and handle any additional duties as assigned.
Candidate Profile:
- Master’s degree in Chemistry or Pharmacy.
- 3-6 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Proficiency in HPLC and other analytical instrumentation.
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical testing protocols (USP, ICH, FDA guidelines).
- Expertise in Empower software and technical problem-solving.
- Strong understanding of GLP regulations and experience in external audits.
- Knowledge of monograph procedures for reference materials.
- Experience in high-volume pharmaceutical QC or R&D is a plus.
- Awareness of ISO/IEC 17025, QMS, and GLP regulations.
