Position: Formulation Scientist – Vaccine R&D
Job Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Vaccine Formulation Scientist to join our innovative R&D team. This role involves designing and optimizing vaccine formulations, with a focus on stability, immunogenicity, and scalability across various delivery platforms. The ideal candidate will have expertise in adjuvants, emulsions, and nanoparticle systems, alongside a strong understanding of regulatory and manufacturing requirements for vaccine production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop vaccine formulations including adjuvants, emulsions, nanoparticles, and combination products, focusing on enhancing immune response and ensuring long-term stability.
- Conduct pre-formulation studies to evaluate the physicochemical properties of antigens, excipients, and adjuvants.
- Optimize formulations for immunogenicity, delivery, and scale-up using advanced technologies.
- Perform stability testing under various conditions (temperature, humidity) and analyze data to ensure product shelf-life and safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (process development, analytical, regulatory) to facilitate smooth transitions from R&D to clinical manufacturing.
- Develop and implement robust manufacturing processes for scalable vaccine production.
- Stay updated on advancements in vaccine adjuvant technologies, delivery systems, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, SOPs, and documentation for regulatory submissions.
- Support tech transfer activities for moving formulations from lab to large-scale production.
Candidate Profile:
- PhD or Master’s in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field, with a focus on vaccine development or formulation science.
- 5-10 years of hands-on experience in vaccine formulation development.
- Strong expertise in adjuvant systems (e.g., alum, squalene-based emulsions, saponins) and immune modulation strategies.
- Experience in formulation stability studies and data analysis.
- Familiarity with cGMP, GLP, and regulatory guidelines related to vaccine development.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of sterile formulation and lyophilization techniques.
- Hands-on experience with characterization techniques (e.g., particle sizing, zeta potential, HPLC, DLS).
- Familiarity with immunological assays (e.g., ELISA, flow cytometry) for evaluating vaccine efficacy.
How to Apply:
Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their applications before the deadline of 15th November 2024.
