Position Details:

  • Post: Research Associate I
  • Project Title: Peptide-metal chelator conjugates as potential therapeutic candidates for multifaceted amyloid-β toxicity in Alzheimer’s disease
  • Location: NIPER-SAS Nagar, Punjab
  • Duration: Initially 1 year, extendable based on performance for up to 2 years and 10 months
  • Walk-in Interview: 17th January 2025, from 10:00 AM onwards
  • Location for Interview: Room No. B-204, Block-B, Department of Medicinal Chemistry, NIPER-SAS Nagar – 160062, Punjab

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Essential Qualifications:
    • PhD in Medicinal Chemistry/Peptide Chemistry (or candidates who have submitted their thesis, with proof of submission), OR
    • M.Pharm./M.S. (Pharm.) in Medicinal Chemistry with three years of research/teaching experience.
    • At least one research paper in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.
  • Desired Qualifications:
    • Expertise in solid phase and solution phase peptide synthesis.
    • Experience in analyzing and purifying peptides using HPLC.
    • Familiarity with assays such as ThT, cell viability, ANS fluorescence, and others, along with high-resolution mass spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy.
  • Age Limit: Below 40 years as of the date of the interview.

Fellowship:

  • Rs. 58,000 per month (consolidated) plus HRA (as per DST norms).

    The fee must be paid in the form of a Demand Draft in favor of ‘Director, NIPER-SAS Nagar’ payable at SAS Nagar (Mohali)/Chandigarh.
