For the role of Research Associate, the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research, and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) is inviting qualified individuals to apply. With its origins in the Indian Cancer Research Centre (ICRC), founded in 1952, ACTREC is a prestigious institution. Under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India, the ICRC changed its name to the Cancer Research Institute (CRI) in 1966. Later, the Institute became a part of the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), which was India’s first comprehensive cancer center.
Job Responsibilities
You will be contributing to the project “Research and Innovation in AYUSH Component of Ayurgyan” as a Research Associate. Among your duties are:
- In charge of a small group in a cutting-edge laboratory for experimental therapies and pharmacology.
- advancing the in silico, in vitro, and in vivo approaches of herbal drug discovery and development for cancer treatment.
- creating and carrying out experiments, scheduling frequent team meetings, and compiling reports on progress.
- coordinating daily project operations and overseeing junior project employees.
- serving as the main point of contact for project-related matters while coordinating with other departments.
Essential Requirements
Applicants that fulfill the requirements below will be given consideration:
- Ph.D., MD, MS, MDS, or a comparable degree is required. As an alternative, applicants who have completed an MVSC, M.Pharm, ME, or M.Tech and have at least three years of research and development or teaching experience are also qualified. It is required to have at least one research paper published in a publication with a Science Citation Index (SCI).
- Experience in drug research and discovery, along with competence in methods including confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, qPCR, Western blot, and cytotoxicity tests, are desirable.
