Under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, the Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST) is a prestigious independent research institute. The institute is looking for a committed and talented Project Scientist to join its Life Science Division, with an emphasis on improving life sciences.
Responsibilities in the Job
The chosen Project Scientist will be essential to:
- Coordinating with funding agencies, assuring seamless development, and setting up and operating research facilities are all part of liaising with funding agencies.
- Encouraging continued research and development efforts for fermented foods, drinks, and phytopharmaceuticals. guaranteeing the uninterrupted advancement and promotion of beneficial food products.
- Coordination and Facilitation: Supporting self-help organizations and facilitating communication amongst many stakeholders to advance successful research outputs.
- Extra Tasks: carrying out any additional duties as delegated by the controlling officer, which can involve helping to plan and carry out strategic research
Requirements
Candidates must fulfill the following requirements in order to be considered for the Project Scientist position:
- Educational Background: Continually strong academic record with master’s and doctoral degrees in life sciences.
- Research articles: Five or more research articles published in peer-reviewed journals that are indexed by Scopus, with a minimum impact factor of two (Clarivate) for each journal.
- Experience: Four years or more of post-doctoral research and development experience in an academic or industrial setting. It is imperative to have demonstrated proficiency in handling fermented foods and beverages and utilizing “Omics” techniques.
- Age Requirement: Applicants must be older than 45.

- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead research initiatives, including effective project management and implementation.
- Fermented Foods and Beverage Expertise: Hands-on knowledge and expertise in the creation and use of fermented foods and beverages.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in “Omics” technologies and their use in biological sciences investigations.
- Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate with partners in research and financing organizations, among other stakeholders.
