Job Title: Officer – Quality Control (Microbiology)
Location: Navi Mumbai, India
As part of the Global Manufacturing and Supply (GMS) team at Takeda, you’ll be contributing to a rapidly transforming industry that applies technology and data in new ways. Within our agile, innovative, people-centric organization, your work will matter every day as you help manufacture therapies for patients across our four platforms: Small Molecules, Biologics, Plasma, and Cell and Gene.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct Steam/Dry Heat sterilization cycles.
- Prepare, sterilize, and dispense media, and carry out growth promotion tests.
- Perform sampling and analysis of finished products for microbiological tests.
- Perform sampling and analysis of water for microbiological and chemical tests.
- Monitor cleaning and waste disposal of the microbiology laboratory.
- Conduct environmental monitoring of controlled areas in the microbiology laboratory and the manufacturing area.
- Maintain microbial cultures.
- Perform internal calibration of instruments.
- Review annual maintenance contracts for instruments/equipment and coordinate with external parties for validation and calibration activities.
- Prepare and review analytical data.
- Maintain inventory of instrument spares, apparatus, media, and chemicals.
- Coordinate with the engineering department related to electrical, instrument, and general maintenance.
- Assist the Manager – Quality Control in representing the Quality Control Department during external audits.
- Ensure environmental protection by controlling air, water, and soil pollution from analytical activities.
- Implement lab excellence/agile projects for overall department excellence.
- Ensure safe operation of the facility and maintain safety for all coworkers.
- Hands-on experience with microbiology instrumentation and analysis.
- Awareness of GxP requirements in the QC laboratory.
Requirements:
- Education: MSc. in Microbiology from a reputed institute.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years in the API – Pharma Industry.
- Good knowledge of API Plant QC – Microbiology Section.
- Awareness of Good Manufacturing Practices and QMS Documentation.
- Strong team performance and collaboration skills.
- Good listening and fast learning capabilities.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in MS Office.
