Job Overview
We are seeking a Scientist II in the Analytical Research and Development (ARD) team to support the development of reference materials. This non-supervisory role involves working on projects related to the isolation and purification of compounds, primarily using preparative HPLC, while maintaining safety and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Isolation Projects (60%): Execute isolation and purification projects, support reaction monitoring and scale-up, conduct final analysis of samples, and prepare development reports.
- Instrument Management (15%): Prepare and complete installation qualification/operational qualification/performance qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) of new instruments, manage inventory for lab supplies, and ensure compliance with safety and GLP procedures.
- Documentation (10%): Prepare SOPs, protocols, and reports, and coordinate project requirements with the Purchasing department. Ensure timely calibration of lab equipment.
- Quality Assurance (10%): Participate in ISO-9001 certification processes and QA audits, addressing any audit findings proactively.
- Diversity and Inclusion (5%): Promote and practice diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging principles within USP India.
Candidate Profile:
- Education: MSc in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or M.Pharm.
- Experience: 3-6 years in Analytical Research and Development.
- Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with preparative HPLC and HPLC method development.
- Familiarity with FTIR, wet chemistry, and experience in GMP/GLP environments.
- Understanding of synthetic organic molecules and analytical chemistry principles.
- Communication: Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with LCMS and other spectroscopic techniques.
- Knowledge of electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN), Empower, and NuGenesis.
- Strong customer communication skills.
