Responsibilities in the Medical Coder Job:
As a Medical Coder at Edifecs, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of medical documentation for HIPAA claims and encounters. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Extracting and reviewing relevant information from patient records to ensure completeness.
- Liaising with physicians and other healthcare professionals to clarify any ambiguous or missing details in the medical documentation.
- Identifying and correcting inaccuracies or inconsistencies in the coding process.
- Familiarity with and use of coding systems such as ICD, CPT, and HCPCS for accurate documentation.
- Performing chart audits to ensure compliance with medical coding policies and guidelines.
- Using coding software and other relevant tools to perform the medical coding efficiently.

Qualifications:
