Macmillan Publishers India Pvt Ltd. is hiring a Peer Review Coordinator (PRC) for its Chennai and Bengaluru locations. This role is crucial in managing the peer review process for academic manuscripts, ensuring quality, efficiency, and ethical compliance in scholarly publishing.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manuscript Management

• Receive and track incoming manuscript submissions.
• Verify compliance with journal guidelines.
• Maintain an organized database of manuscript statuses.

2. Reviewer Coordination

• Identify and invite qualified peer reviewers.
• Follow up for timely reviews and manage reviewer feedback.
• Maintain strong relationships with reviewers and editors.

3. Quality Control

• Monitor peer review quality and timelines.
• Detect and resolve ethical concerns (e.g., conflicts of interest, plagiarism).
• Ensure adherence to journal policies.

4. Process Improvement

• Optimize peer review workflows for efficiency.
• Stay updated on industry best practices.
• Collaborate with editorial teams to enhance processes.

5. Data Management

• Maintain accurate records of manuscripts and reviewers.
• Generate progress reports for editorial teams.
• Ensure data security and confidentiality.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Education & Skills:

• Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, Life Sciences, Biosciences, or Pharma Sciences.
• 1-2 years of experience in journal editorial offices or peer review processes.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Familiarity with scholarly publishing ethics and peer review systems.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Problem-solving and time-management skills.

Preferred:

• Immediate joiners preferred.
