The United States Pharmacopeia (USP) has a job opportunity for the position of Senior Scientist II in the Analytical Research & Development (ARD) Laboratory in Hyderabad, India. This is a supervisory role with the following key responsibilities:

Job Responsibilities:

  • 50%: Lead the isolation/purification of known and unknown impurities/compounds using preparative HPLC and characterization through various analytical techniques. Review sample analysis and prepare development reports for synthetic support projects.
  • 20%: Ensure proper calibration of equipment, perform IQ/OQ/PQ for new instruments, and maintain GLP & safety standards in the lab. Coordinate with the synthetic R&D team to deliver results.
  • 20%: Develop safety projects, participate in cross-functional teams, implement corrective actions with Quality Assurance, and conduct internal audits.
  • 10%: Promote Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging principles at USP India.

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualifications: MSc in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or M.Pharm (13-15 years of experience) or Ph.D. (10-13 years of experience) in Analytical Research and Development.
  • Skills:
    • Hands-on experience with chemical methods and instruments like Prep HPLC and HPLC.
    • Expertise in HPLC & Prep HPLC method development and familiarity with LCMS, GCMS, FTIR, UV-Visible, NMR, etc.
    • Experience in analytical testing, development, and GMP/GLP environment documentation.
    • Strong technical writing, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Knowledge of GMP/ISO-IEC 17025 Guidelines and proficiency in electronic notebooks (ELN, Empower, NuGenesis) are advantageous.
