National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI) is an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. NABI aims to catalyze the transformation of the Agri-food sector in India by being a nodal organization for knowledge generation and translational science leading to value-added products based on Agri-Food biotech innovations for improved household nutritional security.

Positions Available:

1. Project Scientist-One

Project: “BIRAC sponsored Banana Biofortification project”
Principal Investigator: Dr. Siddharth Tiwari
Duration: Till September 2024 (extendable based on funding agency terms)
Funding Agency: Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC)
Essential Qualifications: Doctoral Degree in Science or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology
Desirable:

• Experience in biochemical and molecular analysis, and compositional/proximate analysis for genetically modified plants.
• Excellent academic record with research experience in metabolic engineering, molecular biology, and bioinformatics.
• Knowledge and experience of in-silico analysis such as transcriptomics, proteomics, and genomics.
• Relevant research publications in reputed international journals with 5 or more cumulative impact factors. Emoluments: Rs. 56,000/- per month plus HRA

2. Research Associate I (RA-I)

Project Title: “Genomics for the development of disease-resistant and climate-resilient Brassica crops”
Principal Investigator: Dr. Sivasubramanian R
Essential Qualification: Ph.D. in Life Sciences or Biotechnology with at least two peer-reviewed international publications in Science Citation indexed (SCl) journal.
Desirable Experience:

• Research experience in molecular biology techniques, NGS data analysis, and genome editing.
• Handling genomics data, NGS data analysis, and relevant research publications. Responsibilities: Work on genomics and genome-editing for crop improvement with a focus on disease-resistance and climate-resilience.
  Emoluments: Rs. 58,000/- per month plus HRA

3. Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Project Title: “Immunometabolic Reprogramming for Better Immunity and Mental Health”
Principal Investigator: Mohit Kumar (PhD)
PhD Registration: IISER-Mohali/DBT-RCB, Faridabad/Panjab University, Chandigarh
Duration: 5 years (Two years of JRF and converted to SRF after evaluation)
Project Summary:

• Examine immune-immune and neuro-immune cross-talk using in-vitro infection models.
• Perform pharmacological or genetic approaches and downstream assays.
• Perform brain-targeted drug/RNAi/AAV delivery and behavioral assays in mice models. Essential Qualifications:
• Postgraduate degree in basic Science OR Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in professional course.
• Fellowship for 5 years from UGC, CSIR, DST, DBT, etc. Desirable:
• Strong knowledge of immunology, biochemistry, neuroscience, and cell culture techniques.
• Practical/theoretical knowledge of molecular biology techniques.
• Comfortable working with experimental animals. Age Limit: 28 Years (Relaxation as per GOI Instructions)

4. Field/Lab Worker

• Experience in Lab and Field work.
• Able to read and understand instructions in Hindi and English.
• Qualified 10th class from any board examinations in India. Emoluments: Minimum Rs. 18,000/- per month (as per project grant)
